Starcraft 2: A Trilogy Being Milked Dry

|

If you haven't already heard, Blizzard has come up with the brilliant idea to release Starcraft 2 as not one game, but as 3. They've decided on making it a trilogy so as not to "compromise" on the quality of the single player campaigns for each faction.....

C'mon are you kidding me? How long has this game been in development? Either Blizzard was busy counting the cash they've made on WoW or the new execs from the recently finalized merger between Activision & Viviendi (forming Activision Blizzard) see a new cash cow. I'd like to think its the latter and not the former
(might be a bit of both....).

Activision is already milking Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft and soon to be James Bond. We also saw Tony Hawk get milked till its teats were dry. So do we really need a game like Starcraft 2 being released yearly?

The first game will be called Terran: Wings of Liberty
The second release will be Zerg: Heart of the Swarm
and to complete the trilogy Protoss: Legacy of the Void

Which would mean were Starcraft 2 to be released in 2009, we wouldn't get to play through the campaign of the Protoss till 2011!

As a fan whos waited 10 years for a true sequel, hearing this as news from Blizzard is depressing, not to mention it makes you think on what their plans are for Diablo III.....

I agree its going to be a money maker for them either way. But if they release a campaign that I dont just cheat my ass off through, then hell its worth it.
